Hello!
A little bit about myself, and this site.
I'm a IT literate guy, with special expertise in databases, migration and spreadsheet analysis. I've used loads of different packages over many years (on Windows, Unix and Linux platforms) and so am quick to adapt to new programs or environments. I can speak Spanish and German, and am learning the business of website production, particularly areas requiring dynamic input and/or database manipulation.
What this website does:
- Allows me to practise my php and Mysql.
- A chance for potential employers to be aware of my services.
- Hosts a blog that will be a guide for interested folk on how to harness the power of IT.
Some of the applications and programs I've used include Oracle, PL*Sql, Genio, Access, Visio, PVCS, Siebel, and MapInfo.
The first question may be, did you really write this site? A lot of it, yes - but all of it? -- no. For instance, I used the CSS template made by 360guide as my web template - you can find this at www.oswd.org/. However, all the database links, php code etc have been entered in by myself. By using a template for the css frame I save a lot of time twiddling the design elements (which are not my forte I admit!) There's a lesson here I think! Delegate where your expertise is not so strong, or where it would take too long for you to accomplish your goal.
I pride myself on being diligent, punctual and keen to pass on skills to co-workers. If your enterprise needs a job doing, I'll tell you in the initial (free) consultation what will need doing, and who would be best to do it. Did I mention that I'm extremely honest? If I know I'm not suited for a particular job I will tell you; I will however do my upmost to point you in the right direction for getting the job done. If you have IT work that needs doing with your business, please contact me (using the tab above) or give me a call on Oxford 395558.
